During a tour of the company, Ms Bas saw first-hand the complex processes involved in manufacturing modern electronic assemblies and devices at a small or medium-sized enterprise. In detailed discussions with our production staff, she explored the tasks they are currently working on.
The tour was followed by a round-table discussion between the Federal Minister and Unternehmervereinigung Uckermark e. V. Topics included economic transformation and technological change, particularly the impact of AI. Current economic challenges were also raised with the Labour Minister, including the lack of investment in the railway line to Schwedt and the oil pipeline from Rostock. This weakens the local economy, with consequences that will also be reflected in the labour market over the longer term. The constructive discussion also covered ways to connect local stakeholders with those from the wider region.
